I am [not] a Yoga Teacher.
You are not ready to grow until you change the way you think about growth and success. Growth happens at the edge of your comfort zone. No one who went to space or won a Super Bowl or fell in love with the love of their life did so in comfort. They pushed themselves to the breaking point and stood strong. They created a new version of themselves who was capable of holding space for what they wanted to achieve in time.
You grow when you ask yourself—how can I get stronger, how can I achieve more, or how can I test myself—not how can I feel better about what I am not. Failure is a scam.
In the “yoga industry” there is a trend toward making people feel safe and loved when they are weak, and strong people are seen as performative, angry, or too much. The frame of reference that exists in the west for yoga is tragic. They think that yoga is a transformative practice of loving your self. This is strengthening the ego and failing to transcend the human experience to something greater than the self.
The current yoga industry is crushing people’s ability to grow, limiting them emotionally, physically and mentally in order to fit a mold that was created in the 30s. Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga created by Krishnamacharya is not an ancient practice designed by some Tibetan yogi in the Himalayas. That was Adi Yogi. Ancient practices are not written, they are divine wisdom that flows through powerful people.
This is why I’m hesitant to say that I teach yoga. Hatha Yoga. Tantra Yoga. These are practices rooted in long-standing traditions divined by sages that spoke directly to god. You cannot take Krishna out of Yoga, you cannot take an understanding of mantra out of yoga. You cannot take philosophy out of yoga. You cannot take an exploration of the color orange out of yoga. If you don’t understand these things you are not a yoga guru. My gurus include the great sages. My lineage traces back ages not lifetimes.
The real gurus will tell you hard truths meant to align you with wisdom and clarity. They push your mind, they push your body, and they don’t care if you spent 200 hours in a classroom pretending to study wisdom, philosophy, and movement. This is wisdom and clarity— push yourself to get higher, to get stronger, to get more divine. I am a coach. I am a wisdom coach. My lineage transcends time and space. It includes geniuses like Bertrand Russel, Emmanuel Kant, Dana Nelkin, Erik Watkins, Michael Titlebaum, AND my ancestors who are great doctors and healers, dance teachers, the rocks I’ve climbed, the wars I’ve won within myself, the mountains I’ve climbed, and Adi Yogi himself.
Jai Maa. Jai Gurudev Maheshwara.
You are more powerful when you are aligned with truth and wisdom.
